APLDWA features Seattle landscape designer...
Association of Professional Landscape Designers of Washington (APLDWA) has my smiling face on their website for the month of April. They have written a very nice article about my roots in landscaping the process of growth for Environmental Construction Inc. They have also highlighted two of my favorite projects in recent years -- designed and built by our team. One is an outdoor kitchen in North Seattle, and the other a front-entry landscape design in Kirkland that showcases elegant serpentine steps and blue-stone walkway.
The outdoor kitchen was named Washington Association of Landscape Professionals (WALP) Grand Award ‘Unique Project’ winner a few years ago. These types of construction jobs are becoming quite popular in the Pacific Northwest area, with our mild temperatures and love for the outdoors. I am thankful for a team of craftsman who can create such works of art. The other (landscape steps, rockery, plantings, and walkway) was a large project that solved a problem for the homeowner but was also awe-inspiring upon completion.
APLD is a non-profit, professional organization whose purpose is to create standards for the landscape design industry, education and certification opportunities, networking, information on new government regulations, and publicity for its members. All this so we can do our best and our clients can be assured they are working with a company they can trust.
As I stated for the article, I appreciate being a part of APLD and the talented Seattle area landscape designers that collaborate with me. With all the variety of talent that makes up this industry, we will be able to continue creating new and unique landscape designs for many years.
