Landscape Design - Water Features
From simple structures to complex systems, water features pull your attention
Waterfalls, Fountains, Ponds, and Large Lakes
Imagine on a hot summer day and you stroll through your flower garden, then sit on the rocks and dangling your feet in the water or feel the mist from a majestic fountain surrounded by luscious greenery...and right in your own yard? It's a dream that may be more realistic than you think. Even in a wet climate like the Pacific Northwest, there is plenty of enjoyment from having water features in your landscape.
Water features give a picturesque backdrop for photography, and give a cool, refreshing element to the landscape. Water features also establish an urban wildlife habitat in your garden by providing a source of drinking water and a sanctuary for birds and butterflies.
Whether it is the soft sound of a landscape waterfall flowing into a pond or the glint of sunshine reflecting off the wet rocks, life is always a little more relaxing when you can sit by the water.
Pools and Outdoor Spas
Rock pools and outdoor spas are landscape features enjoyed year-round. These water features are intimate landscape structures that provide both a private and a social extension to your home.
Many residents have found that they use their pool or spa more often after having built a roof over it. Environmental Construction can build a beautifully designed solid structure made from a choice of materials. The experience can also be enhanced with outdoor lighting, privacy screens, and plantings.
When choosing a location for your hot tub, you will need a flat surface. A hot tub can be installed on a deck, reinforced to support upwards of 2½ tons. If a hot tub is to be installed on the ground, the surface should be either a concrete or plastic spa pad.
Relax, refresh, and recuperate. Choosing to install a pool, hot tub, or spa means you are always just moments away from the warmth of ultimate luxury.
Water Feature Installation
Whether we are installing a waterfall, pond, fountain, pool or cistern, each of these water features requires much the same type of installation process.
Our crew are experts in proper water feature installation and, if desired, we will suggest appropriate surrounding vegetation so to maximize the beauty of your new pond, water fountain, waterfall, or stream. We will also offer advice for proper water feature maintenance after the installation.
It is important to choose and install the correct lining material and pump for your water feature. The water pump should provide adequate pressure, capacity, and durability. We typically install Filtrific water pumps in many of our pondless waterfall systems (distributed by Berkey Supply.) Learn more about Filtrific advanced water feature equipment.
